What Is Cosmelan ?

Cosmelan® is an advanced, medical-grade depigmentation treatment designed to target pigmentation at its source. Unlike traditional peels that work only on the surface, Cosmelan works deeper within the skin to regulate melanin production, helping to both correct existing pigmentation and prevent it from recurring.

Once applied, the peel creates a controlled stimulation within the skin, accelerating cellular turnover and encouraging the shedding of pigmented keratinocytes. At the same time, it works at a cellular level by inhibiting tyrosinase, the key enzyme involved in melanin formation. This dual action helps to slow down excess pigment production while promoting the regeneration of new, healthier skin cells.

The result is a progressive resurfacing effect, where the skin undergoes renewal, improving clarity, brightness, and overall skin function while restoring a more balanced and even complexion

What Is The Cosmelan Process ?

Phase 1: Skin Preparation (2 Weeks)
We begin with 2 weeks of at-home skin preparation to strengthen the skin, regulate cell turnover, and ensure it is ready for treatment.

Phase 2: Pre-Treatment Peel
You will undergo a preparatory Jessner peel in clinic to further refine the skin.

Phase 3: Cosmelan® Peel
2 weeks later the Cosmelan mask is applied in clinic and left on the skin for a prescribed number of hours. This is the main treatment phase where pigment is targeted at a deeper level.

Phase 4: Recovery & Skin Renewal (2 Weeks Post)
The skin will go through a peeling and renewal phase. Around 2 weeks after your treatment, you will return for a LED and skin health facial to calm, hydrate, and support healing.

Phase 5: Ongoing Aftercare
A full aftercare program is included and must be followed to support the skin, maintain results, and regulate pigment long term.

What Does Cosmelan Treat ?

Hormonal Pigment

Hormonal pigmentation is a type of discoloration caused by changes in hormone levels, which trigger the skin to produce excess pigment. It often appears as darker, uneven patches on areas like the cheeks, forehead, and upper lip, and can be more stubborn due to its deeper origin within the skin.

  • Melasma

  • Chloasma

General Pigment

General pigmentation refers to discoloration caused by external or environmental factors. It commonly develops from sun exposure, skin inflammation, or injury, leading to uneven patches or spots on the skin. This type of pigmentation typically sits more superficially and can vary in depth and intensity depending on the cause.
